Getting Sober is an Adventure

Surfside logo

Camp Surfside features a low ropes course and campsite for private outdoor gatherings. We also have our very own paintball field with full paintball equipment and Air-soft equipment.

Why do we get outside? We know getting sober is amazing if the right opportunities are presented. Utilizing this land helps us show residents that being clean isn’t boring and there’s a ton of activities to enjoy. There’s also significant research that reveals time outdoors has a wealth of mental health benefits. Addiction impacts all areas of men’s lives, which means an effective addiction treatment model needs robust structure.

We’ve taken a look at research and experimental studies that show time outdoors can profoundly reduce stress and improve attention. People who spend more time outside report that they’re happier and feel more purpose in life. Group activities at Camp Surfside offer the opportunity to build social connections in a healthy, supported environment – it’s an off-site service deemed desirable to maintain sobriety!
